Isfahan, Karachi chambers of Commerce sign MOU

ISLAMABAD (IRNA) -- Isfahan Chamber of Commerce and Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCCI) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to strengthen commercial and industrial relations.
The agreement was inked during Senior Vice President of Isfahan Chamber of Commerce Jafar Zarrehbini’s trip to Karachi, a KCCI statement said.President, Isfahan Chamber of Commerce also proposed that his country is very keen to sign a joint protocol for trade and business development with Iran.
Zarrehbini called for active role of private sector of both countries to help the governments to promote trade and business.
Ahmed Fasihi, Commercial Attaché of Iran in his address stated that during the six past months (from 20th March till 20th September) Pakistan export to Iran with 69 percent increase amounted to 118 million dollars and the Iran export to Pakistan with 11.5 percent increase reached to 129 million dollars compared to the same period last year.
He said that with the assistance and cooperation of economical, commercial, and political officials of the two countries, relations will further develop.
KCCI’s Chief, Anjum Nisar briefed the delegates about the composition and role of KCCI towards promotion of business and trade activities locally and globally.
He also stressed upon acceleration of trade and business activities in the fields of exchange of professional services, broad based business promotion through chamber to chamber contacts which would further strengthen the bilateral trade and business relations between the two countries.
The chamber chief invited the delegation for participation in ""My Karachi Exhibition 2009"" at Karachi to display a stall and to showcase Iranian products which would be helpful for trade and business promotion between the two countries.
